The SMARTEMP® Multi Swirl Ceiling Diffuser, type MSC-FD, is designed for 300 mm wide ceiling grid systems and is ideally suited to applications requiring high airflow rates. By integrating two, three, or four high-induction swirl diffusers into a single rectangular ceiling panel, the MSC-FD creates a smooth, uniform airflow pattern that spreads effectively across the ceiling surface.

Each radial swirl diffuser delivers supply air through a fixed radial discharge pattern, producing horizontal airflow distribution into the occupied space. The diffuser incorporates twenty offset radial swirl vanes with helical twist and cambered leading edges, increasing maximum airflow capacity and extending the Variable Air Volume (VAV) operating range while reducing noise levels and the minimum permissible supply air temperature.

The MSC-FD is the highest-capacity, highest-performing fixed-vane VAV swirl diffuser available for 300 mm wide ceiling grid systems. Its high-induction swirl technology provides significant performance benefits by creating intense mixing at the diffuser discharge surface. This rapidly dilutes the supply air stream with large quantities of room air, quickly equalising temperatures and preventing cold air dumping. The result is a more uniform temperature distribution and enhanced occupant comfort.

The dilution of the supply air stream also improves heating performance by reducing the buoyancy effect of warm supply air, allowing more effective heat distribution throughout the space.

High induction significantly increases the mass flow rate of the supply air through the entrainment of room air, while also causing rapid decay of discharge velocity. At any given airflow rate, the SMARTEMP® MSC-FD diffuser is suitable for both long-throw applications, due to the high momentum of the swirling supply air stream, and short-throw applications, due to its low discharge velocity and effective air mixing characteristics.
