Description
The SMARTEMP® Fixed Helical Swirl Diffuser, type HSC-FD, produces a highly inductive swirl discharge, distributing the supply air stream radially with a fixed horizontal discharge direction and strong mixing characteristics throughout the space. The patent-pending design provides high levels of draught-free comfort and is suitable for both constant volume and Variable Air Volume (VAV) applications, including low-temperature and cold air supply systems.
The diffuser is capable of operating with supply-to-room temperature differentials of up to -16 K, including airflow turndown to approximately 25%, while maintaining effective air distribution and occupant comfort.
The HSC-FD is supplied as standard with a square diffuser face (Figure 1) and is also available with an optional round face configuration.
The diffuser incorporates twenty offset radial vanes with cambered leading edges, reducing both sound power levels and pressure drop. This improves acoustic comfort while also reducing fan energy consumption.
