The SMARTEMP\u00ae Wall Swirl Diffuser, type CSW-AD (Figure 1), is a highly inductive side-blow swirl diffuser designed to supply large volumes of air over long horizontal throw distances in large spaces. It is suitable for installation on sidewalls, bulkheads, columns, or ducts in applications such as exhibition centres, convention halls, airports, shopping malls, and factories.<\/p>\n
The diffuser throw can be factory pre-set or adjusted in increments using simple accessories. Air discharge direction can be adjusted in two planes. Left-right adjustment allows the air stream to be manually directed up to 30\u00b0 either side of the diffuser centreline, while up-down adjustment can be manual, thermostatic, or electrically actuated, allowing the nozzle to move up to 30\u00b0 from the central axis. This enables draught-free cooling, efficient heating, and effective adaptation to varying thermal loads.<\/p>\n
An optional electrically operated Variable Air Volume (VAV) damper, available for the DN630 size, can significantly reduce fan energy consumption. During periods of low demand, the diffuser airflow can typically be reduced to around 40% of its maximum while maintaining a largely constant horizontal throw distance.<\/p>\n
The CSW-AD combines a central jet with a surrounding swirl discharge pattern. The central jet provides long throw performance, while the swirl pattern rapidly entrains room air, reducing discharge velocity and minimising the risk of draughts. The high level of air induction also quickly equalises the supply air temperature with the room air temperature, reducing airflow trajectory changes caused by temperature differences and providing a more uniform distribution of temperature and air velocity throughout the occupied space.<\/p>\n
When fitted with the motorised VAV option (available for the DN630 size only), the CSW-AD maintains a largely constant horizontal throw across a wide range of airflow rates at substantially constant pressure. This enables significant fan energy savings while maintaining effective air distribution during periods of reduced thermal load.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
